What if the assumptions

behind our economic models are wrong?

What if the question isn’t how accurately we model the market —but whether we’re modelling the right thing?

Private Equity

Most private equity outcomes come down to three things: what you pay, how much debt you use, and what you change after you own the company. We’ve researched all three, for established businesses in Europe and elsewhere.

Energy Transition

Our research covers the whole chain, from the technologies and equipment that make the transition possible to the infrastructure and businesses that keep energy systems running. We look at how policy, commodity prices and falling technology costs act on…

Credit & Insurance

Lending looks safe for most of the cycle and then stops looking safe all at once..Much of our research is about that moment: which structures protect the lender, which only appear to, and how much of the stated margin is pay…

Where We´re Building

Across private equity, real estate, credit, infrastructure and energy transition, our work starts with quantitative research. Our purpose is to put long-term capital to work, once we are authorised, in businesses, real assets and credit that move the economy forward, and to do it with the rigour investors expect.

Our people

Schwarz Quant

is built by people who are exceptional in their own fields. They come from different countries, cultures, faiths and educational paths, and each brings a different way of seeing a problem. What they share is simple. They take ownership. They know how to start a task, see it through to the end, and do it without needing to be chased. We hire for ability, character and curiosity, and we look at the person, not the label. We are different, and that is deliberate.

Building on
Quantitative Research

As a multi-strategy alternative asset manager. Quantitative investment research is where we began and what everything else rests on.

Our aim is to earn returns that justify the trust investors place in us, and to be able to explain every one of them. We hold ourselves to a high standard: to look for strong risk-adjusted outcomes, and to be honest about what can go wrong.

our Tactical Approach

Capital allocation is the quiet skill behind every comeback.

Many once-leading German companies did not fail because their markets disappeared. Where others see insolvency, we see a balance sheet problem and a strategy question. Schwarz Quant pairs economic research with business transformation to study why these companies fell, and how patient capital could one day help them compete again in the markets they once led.

Our Audience

We’re a young firm, and we would rather be straight about that. We don’t manage anyone’s money today. The research is done, and now we are building the firm around it, including the authorisation that has to come first.

Conventional economic models,often struggle with

long horizons, ageing populations and changing conditions, which are exactly the things pensions depend on. We are building a different approach to economic modelling, with questions like pension reform in mind. We don’t have all the answers, and we don’t claim to.

Research Coverage

This is a record of what we have studied, not a list of what we own. We don’t manage client money, and nothing here is a holding or a recommendation. We also don’t name the companies we have looked at. Writing publicly about a named business, especially one in difficulty, can hurt people who haven’t asked to be part of our work, so we show the patterns and leave out the names.

Finance and Investments

The World Through Our Lens

Markets, economies and infrastructure don’t stop at borders, and neither does our research. Here we share short notes on developments we are following in Europe, North America, emerging markets and beyond, with our view of why they matter for capital and risk.

We write about themes and consequences, not tips. Nothing here is investment advice.
